Nurturing the Village Gathering

How our lived experience as children can guide us

Join us for a day amongst community where we will intentionally sit with our childhood selves. This safe space will educate us on how those lived experiences guide us now, as caregivers of young people and as caregivers to our younger selves that show up today.

WHY THIS GATHERING?

Creating nurturing and safe environments for young people often requires us adults to reflect on the ways we were raised, what we were taught to believe and what beliefs we continue to uphold as adults that may not be serving us in our caregiving.

During this gathering you will have a chance to sit with your lived experiences as a child to intentionally inform your caregiving around respecting and supporting a child’s autonomy, and how to center your autonomy while caregiving.

With the support of an early childhood specialist we will create a space that is intentional and safe for the children who can attend while their caregivers are gathered and learning in community.

All caregivers are welcome

“Caregiver” for the purposes of the gathering space is defined as anyone who cares, guides, supports a young person in any way (full time, part time, some time). Parents, grandparents, titis, aunts, uncles, nannies, babysitters, community members, etc.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

We are intentionally working with caretakers who are vetted and versed in childcare and early childhood education. There will be one caregiver for every 5 children. Activities planned will be catered to the ages that sign up. As we get closer to the date, we will send information about our caregivers to participants so they can get the children acquainted with the caregivers before they arrive to the gathering space. Care will only be provided up until the end of the Self Love Stations. After the Self Love Station portion of the agenda, you can pick your child for lunch.

The gathering will start at 10AM. If you are bringing a child, please try to get there with enough time to drop your child off before the workshop begins at 10:30AM. The gathering will end after lunch around 2PM.

The age range for children who attend the event will be ages 3-7. We will have activities geared toward each age depending on the ages of the children attending the gathering.

Full refunds will be permitted until April 1st, 2024. After 1st, your ticket is non-refundable. You can choose to gift your ticket to someone else. If you need to request a refund before April 1st, 2024 please send an email to info@anurturingvillage.com.

If you choose to donate a dollar amount to the gathering, you will not be able to select a specific person to make that donation towards. However, you can purchase a ticket on behalf of someone and add their name to the registration instead of yours. We thank you in advance for your generosity! If you have any questions about this, please reach out to info@anurturingvillage.com.
